Chipotle Mexican Grill's Burritos

For 5.70 you can get a big, stubby, delectable chicken burrito (or fajita, taco, burrito bol, etc...) at our local Chipotle. It's extremely big, but in reality it all really depends on your maker. Some of the people are stingy with the ingredients; some are not at all. Today, the people were slightly stingy, especially the salsa person. She gave me only one small scoop of salsa! They typically give a big, heaping scoop of salsa...

Chipotles in general are very modern, with red tones, wooden chairs, and lots of metal. Somehow, our first experience in a Chipotle was far far away, in the East Coast two years ago in 2007. And since we liked it so much, we ate it so many times, only to find out it was a CHAIN and was actually going to open in our area soon (when we came back though...)! But...somehow we think the Arlington, MD location was fresher and more delicious when we went to this location the first time. You see, there are differences though! Makes it feel not bad that we went there so many times :).

The food is great. Used to be a taco person when coming here (they give three tacos), but then found out the burrito would give you more food. After all, everything is the same price. The only thing that varies the pricing is what type of meat you choose. I like the chicken, which is naturally raised.

Before Eating. This is GIGANTIC!

If you are thinking about how big it is, it's about 6-8 inches (depending on who rolls it up), but the circumference of it is exceedingly FAT. Extend your hand to the maximum you can and make a C shape with it. (for adult readers) Kids that are less than 10 probably might need two hands to eat this. But everyone should. It's just so big!

Interior of Burrito

There are lots of goodies in this burrito and you can configure it to your own liking. I though today stuck with what the menu said about the Chicken burrito and not make up my own configuration. Anyway, my burrito had:
Chicken
Cilantro and Lime Rice- you could actually taste the lime! And it wasn't hard like some times coming to this location so that was good. Cilantro was evident and gave some herby note.
Black Beans
Sour Cream- From Daisy, and doesn't have Recombinant Bovine Growth Hormone (rBGH)
Cheese
Lettuce- crisp and dark colored green. That's good!
Roasted Chili-Corn Salsa- Adds a nice sweetness because of the corn. You can't taste the spice that easy though. It lingers in your mouth afterwards though.

UPDATE April 9, 2009:
Here's another picture of their Chicken burrito, but this time with a bit more veggies. It has the same ingredients as the burrito I had in January.
